VASC Seminar Announcement ========================= Date: Monday, 10/29/01 Time: 3:30-4:40 **NEW LOCATION**: NSH 1507 (adjoins Robo-lounge) Speakers: Daniel Huber and Takeo Kanade Title: Discussion and analysis of the VASC community resources At the last VASC retreat, we agreed to periodically use the VASC seminar to discuss VASC community resources. Well, it's been a year and then some, so what better way to kick off the newly revived VASC seminar than with a VASC town-hall meeting. This seminar will be a reprise of the talk I gave at the retreat. Takeo will begin with a motivating speech, explaining the benefits of VASC community resources and why everyone should participate in maintaining them. Then I will give a brief tour of the resources, and we will discuss what has worked and what has not, what is useful and what is not, and what is worth continuing to maintain and what is not. Every VASC member should attend this meeting, because everyone's input is important to the decision-making process. Throughout this week, we'll be making announcements about updates to the VASC community resources, which are accessed through the VASC web site (http://vasc.ri.cmu.edu). Please take the time to briefly review the new information so that we'll have a good foundation for discussion at the meeting. As an added incentive, there will be homemade cookies for those who participate in the discussion.
