Title:  What's New at the NREC?

Speakers: Steve DiAntonio and Pete Rander

Abstract:

Since its start in 1995, the National Robotics Engineering Consortium has
grown to 60 personnel, 16 projects, and 19 commercial and government
clients.

To fulfill its technology transfer mission, the NREC faces unique technical
and business challenges.  Pete Rander will present projects that illustrate
both the invention and the system engineering necessary to field advanced
robotic systems.  Several of these projects have significant vision
processing components.  Steve DiAntonio will present the business aspects of
the NREC including strategy, new business development, intellectual property
negotiation, and our growing capability in DoD unmanned vehicle design and
autonomy.  Both speakers will conclude with suggestions as to how NREC and
VASC can collaborate in the future.
